I can get about 10 shots per roll and it’s a lot more economical.While I don't use a Linhof I do use an MPP MkVII which is derived from the Linhof Technika and has similar functionality (but not Linhof/Wista style lens boards).

Linhof must have been aware of the costs and so they made a Super Rollex/b> back for the camera. Maybe it’s the fact that every shot costs $7. There’s something insanely hard and fun about shooting with 4x5s. I’ve upped it’s resale value already if I decide not to keep it. Once thing that made the new skin application harder than the Leica m3 was the fact that the Linhof had a lot of dials and knobs that needed removing before hand.Īll in all I’m super happy with the finished product. Once again I applied several coats of paint thinner to the original leather, wait for it to bubble and remove once ready. I figured it out pretty quickly that he just didn’t know how to use the camera. Well little didn’t he know he just wasn’t releasing the right buttons. The seller said the back knob said something was broken and the rear movements could not be made. It was missing pieces of the original leather. Well a week later I found a seriously good deal on a Linhof Technika IV 4×5 on APUG. It was made of light steel and cherry wood.

I was fascinated by the tilt-shift-swing abilities of view camera’s, but I found I rarely wanted to take the Nagaoka out because of it’s seemingly fragile nature. I ended up getting too busy to finish part 2 of the review, and actually sold the camera on eBay for a nice profit.
